Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
(Please share this on social media, print and share with your neighbors especially those who are homebound and not able to access social media.)
With the governor’s shelter-in-place announcement yesterday, we are reminded of the fragility of our lives and our common humanity. We also need to do what is sensible and try to help each other through this difficult time. We continue our walk toward eternity into unchartered territories together. Our Lord reminds us through the writings of the Prophet Isaiah:
A reminder that all non-sacramental events at St. Elizabeth and St. Jules continue to be postponed or cancelled until further notice. I am sorry to announce that we have decided to postpone the 2020 Allons Manger. In the meantime, please hold onto any raffle tickets and money collected, but do not try to sell them until further notice. We will provide instructions on when to turn those in to the office.
The parish office will be closed for all outside business beginning Tuesday, March 24, 2020 until further notice. Parishioners are encouraged to do business by either calling and leaving a message at (225) 473-8569, sending an email to [email protected], or submitting things by mail. The staff will be working a modified schedule and usually off campus. I will now be staying in Belle Rose full-time to maintain the office and to be onsite. We will continue to follow the federal government and Governor Edwards’ shelter-in-place guidelines and any future directives from Bishop Duca.
With no public Masses being offered until further notice, some parishioners have asked how to submit their weekly collection. If you are able to, you can sign-up for Online Giving through our Church website by clicking on the button on the front page. You can also mail a donation (check, no cash) to:
St. Jules ChurchI am aware of the financial impact that Covid-19 is having on so many in our area and nation. Therefore, if you cannot contribute monetarily, we ask that you keep us in your prayers as well those in the medical profession, first responders, and those suffering from this virus and their families.
I will continue to monitor the situation and keep you posted as to any future determinations about extending or retracting any of the procedures that have been put into place. Please continue to follow the directions given by our Governor and medical professionals. Rest assured of my prayers for you. Please keep me in yours!Through the Alliance of the Two Hearts,
